OCR for Higher Education mobile app overview

OCR for Higher Education is the university product in OneClickRooms (OCR) for Education. The other product is OCR for Schools.

Get started with the OCR for Higher Education app on Android or iOS and understand its student and staff workspaces.

The OCR for Higher Education mobile app brings university student services and assigned staff work to Android and iOS. It uses the existing institution, campus, academic, employment, and role records; it does not create a separate parent account or academic identity.

Students and authorized officers have distinct sign-in experiences. The app shows the screens available to the signed-in identity and its campus or department assignments.

Before you begin

  • Use an active Higher Education student or staff account issued by the institution.

Sign in through the student or staff entry that matches your account.

  1. Install the institution-approved app

    Use the Android or iOS installation link provided by the institution or its approved OCR distribution channel. Confirm the application name and publisher before entering your credentials.

  2. Choose the Higher Education product

    If the app displays a product chooser, select OCR for Higher Education. OCR for Schools is a separate product and uses school classes, parent links, and homework workflows.

  3. Sign in with the matching account

    Students use the student sign-in. Faculty and staff use the staff or officer sign-in. Use your own account; the app does not provide a Higher Education parent sign-in.

  4. Use the workspace shown for your role

    Students open their dashboard, academics, services, events, and Account areas. Staff see their leave and assigned approval or event-management work when their role permits it.

One app experience across both platforms

Android and iOS use the same Higher Education account, policies, and workflow decisions, with device-native controls for dates and files.

Android and iOS

The same Higher Education roles, server rules, and supported workflows apply on Android and iOS. A device can present its own date or file picker, but the institution’s policy and saved request are the same.

Use the institution-approved source for installation and keep the device operating system and app current. If a role area is missing, ask the institution to confirm the account’s active campus, department, employment profile, and role assignment.

Product boundaries

  • Higher Education uses its own campus, department, programme, academic class, term, and employment structures.
  • There is no parent role or parent-linked student experience in Higher Education mobile.
  • The Higher Education mobile app does not provide the OCR for Schools homework workflow. Homework creation, approval, and student submission are documented under OCR for Schools.
