Grading settings define how assessment values map to grades and, where used, GPA or cumulative GPA. DMC Assessment controls how detailed or consolidated assessment results are presented.
Before you begin
- Use the school’s approved assessment and grading policy; check sample boundary scores in each grade band.
Compare a sample result to the school’s official grading reference.
-
Review the grading scheme
Open Grading and check the grade ranges, labels, passing rules, and GPA or CGPA calculations against the approved school policy.
-
Review assessment presentation
Open DMC Assessment and select the approved detailed or consolidated result presentation for the relevant institution or campus.
-
Confirm the exam configuration
Check that the exam’s class, subject, term, and assessment components use the intended grading policy.
-
Verify a result preview
Use an authorized result or DMC view to confirm the grade, totals, and presentation match the approved policy before releasing results.
A small range or calculation error can affect many student results.
Changing grading rules
A grading change can affect results, reports, and student records. Follow the school’s authorization policy and understand whether the change applies only to future results or requires a reviewed correction process.
Do not change a published result by editing a grade band without checking the underlying assessment and approval history.
Student visibility
Students see results after the school makes them available through the result release workflow. A setting or saved mark does not necessarily mean the result is already published.
