OCR for Schools portal overview

OCR for Schools is the school management product in OneClickRooms (OCR) for Education. The other product is OCR for Higher Education.

Understand the school portal, its role-based navigation, and the main workflows.

Portal path Sign in Dashboard

OCR for Schools brings school setup, campus operations, academic records, examinations, student services, and finance into a role-based portal. The menu is assembled from the signed-in account’s role and institution or campus assignments.

A school may have multiple campuses. Institution-wide setup and campus-level daily work are handled by different roles, and the portal checks access on the server when a page or action is requested.

Before you begin

  • Use an account assigned to the school and role relevant to the task.

Find the role guide, then open the guide for the workflow you need.

  1. Sign in with your school account

Open the school portal and use the email and password issued or activated for your account. Student and parent accounts use their own sign-in identities.

  2. Start from the dashboard

Review the dashboard for summaries and items requiring attention. Use the navigation menu to open the task assigned to your role.

  3. Check campus and term context

Before adding or changing records, confirm the selected campus, academic term, class, and student where the page provides those selectors.

  4. Finish and confirm the result

Save or submit the change, read the success or validation message, and reopen the record or relevant list to confirm it was saved.

Records are institution-scoped

The portal uses the signed-in user’s institution and campus permissions to decide which records and actions are available.

Main areas

School setup covers campuses, boards, academic terms, classes, subjects, teachers, and students. Academic operations cover schedules, homework, examinations, results, and promotions.

Administration includes sibling linkage, campus transfers, settings, reports, and student services. Finance users manage fee types, student fee batches, accounts, payments, and available settlement workflows. Accommodation pages are available to authorized staff and students where enabled.

What the portal does not imply

A menu item being visible does not grant access to every campus or record. Access also depends on server-side role checks, institution scope, assigned campus, and workflow state. Ask an Institution Admin if the expected page is missing.

Recommended next step

Continue with Roles and Access, then review the relevant setup or daily operations guide.
