System Settings contains institution-wide and campus-specific rules used by other portal workflows. Some sections are restricted to Institution Admin or Institution Focal accounts; campus staff may see only the settings assigned to their role.
Before you begin
- Confirm your role and the institution or campus scope before editing policy.
Verify a policy in the workflow that consumes it and keep its effective date with the school’s records.
-
Set time and date display
Review Timezone and Date Format. Use the school’s approved time zone and DD-MM-YYYY for user-facing date display where supported.
-
Review finance rules
Check Financial Holds, Fee Types, Transfer Fee, Taxes, Portal Billing, and Siblings Policy. Confirm campus scope, applicable fee categories, effective dates, and approvals.
-
Review academic policy
Check Homework Policies, DMC Assessment, Examination Governance, Academic Mapping, Grading, and Student Leave Policies. Confirm who can submit, approve, mark, or promote.
-
Review accommodation and platform settings
Check Accommodation Policies and Meal Plans, Storage, and Connected Apps where used. Confirm that external providers and institutional settings are authorized.
-
Save and confirm effects
Save the setting and review the page or workflow that consumes it. For sensitive policy changes, keep a record of the approval and effective date.
Check the relevant fee, academic, student service, or accommodation guide before changing a policy used by active records.
Campus-specific policy
A setting may apply institution-wide or to a selected campus. Confirm its scope before saving so the policy does not unintentionally affect other campuses.
Academic mappings, transfer charges, siblings discounts, leave approvals, and accommodation terms can influence existing student workflows. Review active cases before changing policy.
Connected Apps
Connect Apps stores a user-authorized relationship with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom. Review Connected Meeting Workspaces for connection, use, and disconnect guidance.
Changes and approvals
Some configuration changes use an approval or effective-date flow. A submitted request may remain pending; check the displayed status before assuming the new policy is in effect.
